cast iron casters

Antique Industrial Furniture Stem Casters

Set of 1800s’ cast iron casters in rare, double wheel design! Super-rare stem model is ideal for secure mounting to thin furniture legs. Swiveling and self-leveling- wheel assembly tilts from side to side, keeping wheels in contact with uneven surfaces. Model No.51 by Payson Manufacturing Company of Chicago, IL. Please note that circular holes in mounting plate do not function due to inaccessability from the bottom of the caster; stem is only aspect that would hold caster in place on furniture.

• Will raise your piece 2 1/2 inches
• 1 7/8 inch diameter wheels in 2 1/2 inch wide forks
• 2 1/8 inch circular mounting plates with 1 1/2 inch long, 3/8 inch wide stems

Great operational and structural condition. Scoured with power wire brushes to remove thick oxidation, soaked indegreaser, then hand scrubbed to remove dirt and grime, leaving an aged patina. Moving parts lubricated and ready for installation.

Large Antique Furniture Casters

Antique set of swivel caster legs. Large hardwood wheels in iron forks swivel in thick cast iron sleeve brackets. Circa 1880s.

• Will raise your piece 6 3/4 inches
• 3 inch diameter, 3/4 inch wide wheels
• 3 x 5 inch mounting plates
• Includes new wood mounting screws

Good condition. Great operational condition with wheel assemblies swiveling beautifully in sleeves; wheels spin easily. Cosmetically, original black painted finish shows minor wear. Structurally, wood does show shrinkage cracks, but seems sound and sturdy due to hardwood, but I would not suggest using on a piece weighing over 200 lbs.; see close-up.
