ANTIQUE INDUSTRIAL FURNITURE CUP CASTERS

ABOUT Set of 4 antique swivel furniture cup casters to fit a table or cabinet leg. Cast iron cup with mounting holes on sides.

DIMENSIONS
• Will raise your piece 4 1/4 inches (bottom of wheel to bottom of cup)
• Cup fits a 2 × 2 inch leg; 2 inches deep
• 3 inch diameter, 7/8 wide wheels

CONDITION Good operational and structural condition. Cosmetically, all parts show worn black paint. Aged bronze finish on forks. Gently cleaned, leaving a clean aged patina. Moving parts lubricated. Ready for installation.

CREATOR The Colson Company of Elyria, OH.

DATE OF MANUFACTURE Marked “Patent Applied For”. Circa 1920s.

MATERIALS Cast iron cup. Steel forks. Aluminum wheel.

HISTORY Colson can trace its history back to 1885 when it was founded as Fay Manufacturing in Elyria, Ohio, by Winslow L. Fay. In 1917, Fred Colson purchased the company and changed the name to The Colson Company. He expanded the caster line, and to the product line was added hospital wheeled equipment & industrial material handling equipment.
