Antique Cast Iron Industrial Furniture Casters

Refurbished set of four cast iron casters. Made before ball bearings were a thing, a raceway of disk bearings allows wheel assembly to swivel on the mounting plate. By M. B. Schenck & Company of Meriden, Connecticut with patent date of May 17, 1877. New wood mounting screws included.

• Will raise your piece 1 7/8 inches
• 1 1/4 inch diameter, 5/8 inch wheels
• 1 5/8 x 2 1/8 inch mounting plates

Great operational, structural and cosmetic condition. Refurbished- scoured with power wire detailing brushes to remove grime and rust, soaked in degreaser, then hand scrubbed with wire brushes, leaving a luscious natural iron patina. Moving parts lubricated and ready for installation.

Interestingly, Mr. Schenck was a supporter of presidential candidate Lincoln. He served for the duration of the Civil War, and voted for Lincoln a second time by sending his ballot home from the war. He started his caster company shortly after returning home. Thank you for your service, Mr. Schenck!
